We were fortunate to receive funding from the U Project (Connexions) which enabled young women from school in years 10 & 11 to participate in various activities and residentials over the summer period.
Activities included Taster sessions, an Awesome Arts and Adventure week, 2 residential to the Isle of Mull, a sports development week and health and well being week held at Leeds Metropolitan University Campus.

The young women were consulted on the types of activities they wanted to participate in which meant that retention was high. Some of the young women received Open College Network accreditation in addition to making new friends and learning new skills. |

Some of the activities brought the young women out of their comfort zones and comments such as being more prepared and capable of overcoming future challenges and barriers were made.
The young women were all invited to a presentation event which took place at the Host Media Centre and they each received a certificate of achievement as well as their Open College Network Certificates.
